Comfortable beds and well-equipped en suite bathrooms. Cozy atmosphere with easy access to a bar serving delicious food, including some awesome burgers and a fantastic breakfast with quality ingredients. The small car park, while a bit tight, is manageable for medium-sized vehicles.
The property had some quirks. cobwebs in the bedroom and the ceiling slope made it tricky when getting in and out of bed. Poor lighting on the outside stairs can pose a hazard after dark, especially when combined with muddy surfaces. Some bathrooms showed signs of wear and could benefit from maintenance. There’s no waste plug in the washbasin that might cause inconvenience. The area lacks street lighting, which might feel daunting if you're sensitive to driving in the dark.

Stayed for a couple of nights in an en suite double room. The room had a flat-screen TV, free toiletries, and tea/coffee maker. Bed was super comfy. Breakfast was spot on with freshly baked croissants. The location was nice and quiet, making it perfect for a relaxing getaway.

The atmosphere at this charming cricket-themed pub was delightful, and service was friendly. While the menu could use some exciting new options, the cooked breakfasts were fantastic. Be cautious of the tight entrance to the car park, but overall, a lovely place to unwind in the countryside.

Tasty pub grub!
Stumbled into this cute pub for a quick bite. The fish and chips were epic—big fish, thick chips, and homemade tartare that was delish! The staff were super friendly, and even though the parking was a bit tight, we managed just fine. They could add more breakfast options though, like croissants!

I chose to stay at The Bat & Ball for its convenience to Ripon College, just a short walk from the function I was attending. The room I had was a bit small and chilly. I appreciated the comfortable bed, which made a difference for the short time I was there. the noise from other rooms and the stairwell was quite intrusive. An electric heater was provided, but I didn’t use it as I was hardly in the room. Breakfast was good and provided a nice start to the day. Unfortunately, some aspects need attention, like the cleanliness of the room. I noticed cobwebs and a slippery, muddy outdoor staircase that was poorly lit. There was a lack of food options on-site, which was surprising. my stay had its ups and downs, balancing comfort with some significant inconveniences.
